All students, whatever your age or ability, are warmly welcomed at our shala. If you have any questions before joining please email Caroline on caroline@ashtangabristol.com.
The shala address is 300 Gloucester Road (the Quakers Meeting House). There is plenty of free on-street parking on the side streets around the shala and a carpark diagonally opposite. Do not park on the main road, you’ll get a ticket. Please check all signs carefully before leaving your car.
Bike racks are provided (remember your lock! it is not possible to store bikes or scooters inside the building for fire and safety reasons, including folding bikes) and there is a bus stop right outside.
For more information on the Ashtanga practice and studying at SYC visit www.kpjayi.org. This website includes a full list of Authorised and Certified teachers all over the world.
If you live in or are visiting London practice with Hamish at www.astangayogalondon.com
Please note: There are no teaching training programmes for Ashtanga Yoga endorsed by KPJAYI. This includes ‘intensives’, ‘immersions’ or ‘clinics’. Authorised and Certified teachers are instructed to maintain a yoga room or Shala to allow for daily, preferably morning, self-practice and to honour Saturdays and Moondays as rest. Ashtanga Bristol honours their requests.
