SHALA GUIDELINES:
– Ashtanga Yoga is taught one on one in the group setting which means you can start and finish at anytime during teaching hours as suits your schedule.
– If you are a beginner please email in advance and allow around 30-40 minutes for your first session.
– In the week doors open at 6am, you can arrive and begin from this time onwards if you have an established practice. Beginners: please don’t arrive until 6.30am earliest.
– Teaching finishes at 9am and at 8.30am on Fridays. Please leave enough time for your closing asanas and time to rest. We advise all students aim to arrive by 8am latest or 7.30am on Fridays – this gives you an hour for your practice. If you arrive late you will need to shorten your practice to be finished when class ends.
– On Fridays we practise the primary series. If a moonday falls on a Friday then Thursday is primary only.
– Sunday Shala and the mid morning classes run separately from the main shala. Please book and pay Vanessa directly for these classes.
– We are closed on Saturdays and Moondays. For a full list of Moondays please check the Moondays page and add them to your diary in advance.
– Conference is a chance to learn more about the philosophy, texts and tenets that underpin the physical practice of yoga. We meet on the first Friday of every month after led primary, starting the talk at 8.20am and finishing around 9am.
– Please be as quiet as you can when you arrive at the Shala and save any questions for after class, wherever possible. Quietude is crucial for introspection and allowing the deeper aspects of the practice to unfold.
– For students who would like to study with Caroline but cannot make the early morning classes please check the ‘workshops and retreats’ page for her other teaching events.
